A DAWN OF HOPE IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic across the globe, an IoT group called the IoT network Hub has unveiled solutions targeted at addressing the pandemic, the group based at the Kofi Annan ICT Centre is headed by Mr. Joshua Opoku.

Some of the innovations that have been created by the group to tackle this pandemic include. Contactless washing taps, liquid soap and sanitizer dispensers among others.

The incorporation of sensors into, the tap  enables it to sense one’s hand triggering it into action as a result rendering its operation devoid of human manipulations.

Low Cost Face Shield to prevent coming into face contact with droplets hanging in the atmosphere, especially dealing with Corona Virus victims and also to prevent face touching. This has been made for the  prevention of infected persons from infecting others through sneeze droplets and other airborne transmissions.

An Artificial intelligent App has also been made seeking  to provide real-time updates on Corona virus cases, Contact Tracing, help report cases, complain and suspected cases, sanitized the public on safety tips and basic preventive measures of the main reasons. One of the contributing factors to China’s  success against the fight of Corona was due to timely and adequate data on their populace. Having such a system in place will greatly help alleviate the current problem.

IoT Network Hub has over 5000 membership in Ghana with Chapters in all the 16 regions of Ghana, and other Africa countries including Nigeria, Gambia, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Rwanda and others.The group has its sole mission of  being a force in Africa that is leveraging new technologies to tackle our problems that are unique to the African setting first and the world over. It is their belief that  disruptive technologies will be the next big thing and as a result much particular attention should be paid to it.
