As part of IoT(Internet of Things) Network Hub monthly meetings, Miss Lizette Berry, a Neuroscientist and Brain Coach has brought to light some key potentials of the brain and how individuals can derive total benefits from it. She said that by giving prominence to the most important tasks-the brain can be rewired. From her presentation, she indicated that life is 90% mental and one’s inability to control their brain may end such individuals up in a place of indecisiveness. The event, held at the Ghana India Kofi Annan Centre for Excellence (AITI KACE) on Saturday the 30th of April brought together technology enthusiasts, persons in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) fields and some young robotics trainees.

THE POWER OF THE BRAIN

Miss Berry touched on the different units of the brain and the significant role each played in aiding the human body to be functional. Speaking on the main highlight of her message, she mentioned that one of the dominant ways of controlling one’s thought is getting to understand how the brain functions through the mind’s eye. This, she indicated can be activated through one’s thought pattern. In her own words, she said “The only way to control your thoughts is to see your brain with your “brain’s eyes” ”

THE BRAIN’S  MAKE-UP AND FUNCTION

Discussing the numerous functions of the brain through a PowerPoint presentation, the sophisticated structure was simplified to the understanding of the audience. Miss Berry pointed out that the brain is a complicated organ that regulates the body’s thought, memory, emotion, touch, motor skills, vision, breathing, temperature, and hunger. She mentioned that;the central nervous system is also made up of the brain and the spinal cord that flows from it.

THE EVOLVING WORLD

Joshua Opoku Agyemang President of the IoT Network Hub and Ghana STEM Network saw the imminent need for the participants to understand this presentation as the brain formed an important part in critical thinking and creatively solving problems which are also rated as some of the most important skills needed in the world today.
